New Game Updates: What do They Mean?

I'm sure you've noticed a lot of new updates to the game in the last couple of days. There are some new toons (Wampa, Starck, Imp Droid), a new Dark Side Territory Battle, and the upcoming Territory War that is beginning with a week long "prelude" which includes daily tips in-game and some battles to play that give us an indication of the type of enemies we will battle.

You can find details in-game and on the EA Forums, but I will give just a quick list of what everyone needs to know right away. I'll start with the new Territory Battle (DS) first:

Territory Battle - Dark Side:

So there isn't a whole lot new here. It's basically the TB we are used to, but this time from the DS perspective. As you can see the "Hoth Heroes" we will be using this time are Vader, Veers, and Snowtrooper. I.E. instead of the "Hoth bros" from the LS version, these are the toons you will need to attempt some of the combat missions (translation: farm these guys if you haven't already!).

These Hoth Heroes will receive certain bonuses during TB, and Empire toons will also receive another bonus (see in game details).

Also expect to see certain factions needed for some battles (Night Sisters, Bounty Hunters, etc.)

Platoons will still need to be filled, but rather than disarming them to prevent them from attacking us, we will be activating them to attack the enemy.

Territory Wars:

Territory Wars are brand new and will pit one guild vs another based on similar galactic power ratings. There is a registration period where (at least 25) guild members must sign up to participate. The toons you have at the time you are locked in will not be able to be changed (i.e. leveled up, mods moved) and this is what the opponent selection will be based on.

In Territory Wars we will be setting our own defenses, and then attacking the opponents'. We will receive banners for completing different activities such as placing a defense or conquering an opponent territory.

FO and Resistance gain bonuses in Territory Wars.

We will have to learn as we go, so please play attention to guild chat, and ask if you have any questions! Also, if you lock in to play, please make every effort to do so, as our opponent will be selected based on our locked-in players and we will be handicapped if you're unable to play after signing up. Of course, real life things come up, but make an effort if you can.
